am in cologne now.. after nuremberg i have visited munich (which was rather sian =( ), then fussen, and then constance.. din have internet connection in munich (cos must pay $), so only recently discovered that arsenal thrashed juve in highbury - yay! =)

quite shagged out by now, maybe cos of the really long and boring train rides in between cities - espec the train ride from fussen to constance, in which i managed to miss one of the connecting trains for mysterious reasons, which lengthened our supposed 5 hr plus train ride to abt 8 hrs.. think i've already travelled more than 1000km on german trains - good thing we have a german rail pass (which costed 190 EUR), or else we would have shelled out more than 300 EUR for all the train rides.

haha quite a long "short update" this time cos am in friend's place with broadband connection, but since i can't upload pics i'll post pics when i get back..

in nuremberg now.. leipzig yest was rather interesting (am suffering from a music overload, and info overload from my travelling partner who knows TOO much for his own good. really.) nuremberg was rather rushed today, din have the chance to visit the kaiserburg castle cos we had to rush off to the reichparteitaggelände (nazi rally ground). bah.

munich tmr, hope it's better! =)

berlin is simply fantastic - though we plunged into it in a rather unplanned way - hopefully other cities turn out fine too! =)

felt lazy (as usual) over cooking dinner, so i went to browse the shelves of "reduced" foodstuffs in sainsbury.. any reduced item is recognizable by the yellow tag (see below) indicating its original price and reduced price =) i get excited whenever i see stuff that i want getting reduced by 1/3 or more, which was what happened today =P

good bargain ok! rice, sweet and sour chicken, and spring rolls! the spring rolls were rather nice - tasted much like the 春卷s i often had in chinese high =D

and all for the price of 2 quid! really 划算 haha.

speaking abt 2 quids, when i was paying for that dinner of mine, i was digging around my wallet and i found this:

yay! i have no idea where or when i got it, but i'm finally part of the "i have the double helix coin" club! =P basically this coin was produced in 2003 to mark 50 years after the discovery of DNA - it's rather hard to find this coin cos i think pple don't circulate it after they get it, much like what i'll be doing =P this coin was shown to us during one of our cells lectures, that's why we knew about its existence.. think hk had this coin much earlier than i did, but now i dun need to envy his material possessions haha =)

well, it's not often that i have supervisors telling me to "even if you don't attend other lectures, you must attend his (my current cells lecturer's) last lecture", so of course i went into today's lecture expecting something different..

while chemistry lecturers usually end their lecture series with a bang (wothers exploded a sheep, while clarke exploded two empty nescafe tins), this cells lecturer of mine ended his lecture series with a SONG. after displaying his last powerpoint slide, he took out a guitar under a table, and then he started strumming it and singing to it.

can't really remember the exact lyrics, but it was really hilarious.

not surprisingly, he was rewarded with one of the longest applause one lecture theatre of students could give to their lecturer - it was the longest sustained clapping i've ever been part of, and i can imagine how proud the person at the receiving end must be =)

a bit of googling on his name brought this article (link) up.. apparently, a* (for one) thinks the same way as we do - that our current lecturer is superb =P

and hols just started for me - in a short 3 hrs, i've watched 4 consecutive eps of anime, and i was limited not because i was tired, but because i haven't finish downloading other episodes =PpP

i have..

zero practicals left! but i still have
one piece of homework left (supposedly due today though haha),
two days left,
three sups left and
four lectures left.

and what's in store for me is..

FIVE weeks of hols!

it's not often that i post whiny stuff on my blog - think it's my first - as compared to haolian posts, so i was really surprised by the amount of virtual comfort given by my friends =) the first person who comforted me did so less than TEN minutes after i posted that post, and the next one was abt two hours later.. groggy as i was yesterday, i couldn't help but feel touched..

to those who flooded my tagboard and MSN-ed me, thanks a lot!

btw, just an update on my current situation: felt rather weak this morning, still din have appetite to eat breakfast (maybe getting sian of cereals alr), but it gradually got better over the morning.. just had a rather filling lunch just now, think i'm getting better already..

think i kena food poisoning or sth.. yest i had this dull ache in my stomach that didn't subside even though i had my big business with the toilet bowl (which was a very watery affair).. after emptying the contents of my stomach, i felt really really weak (i have no freaking idea why), so i dragged myself onto my bed, and rested there for about an hour..

upon waking up, i discovered that my body felt rather hot - i had a mild fever! i have no idea why i'm so suey =(

at night, i buay tahan liao, so i slept early (at 9:40pm).. woke up at 8am, felt much better than yesterday, but my stomach ache hadn't subsided.. still lao-sai-ded when i went to the toilet, and i didn't have an appetite for breakfast.. i still felt weak, and thus tumbled into my bed, in the process accidentally skipping my cells lecture.. haiz.

i had a supervision at 12pm which i couldn't miss (cos got chiobu sup partner), and french at 3-5pm, and another supervision from 5-6pm.. i felt like a zombie throughout these lessons - brain couldn't absorb anything cos i felt rather tired (although i slept > 12 hrs!).. but i slowly felt better throughout the course of the day, thankfully.

am eating dinner now.. hopefully i wun lao sai again *crosses fingers*

my fridge is really small, but it beats not having one in the first place =)

fyi, the two paper-wrapped thingies are actually two bottles of wine.. keeping it refrigerated for use this evening =P

yay i just broke my cheapest 3-course-dinner record =)

dish #1: broccoli and carrots (50p)
dish #2: eggs with onion (30p)
dish #3: turkey mince (£1.40)
misc: rice and condiments and ribena (20p?)

and i invited a friend over for dinner.. so the dinner was abt £1.20 per person, and the portion size was quite big too.. super 划算 haha.

two more weeks of getting crushed by the immense workload.. holidays is just arnd the corner!! =P

i'm getting into the holiday mood wayyy early.. maybe that explains why i play online games for 2 hours per night these days.. i keep thinking that the revising of the growing pile of notes i have can be done during the holidays =)
