early blog-birthday

haha since the birthday of this blog falls right smack on the first day of my tripos exams, i shall celebrate it a few days in advance haha.

so happy 2nd birthday to my blog! haha.

can't believe this blog made it so far - thought my blogging impulse would die out in a year.. haha but i've been blogging less and less lately (as evidenced by the post count - 181 posts last year, as compared to 98 this year), as most of my time now is evenly divided between anime-ing and studying =) the latter has been steadily increasing in proportion in relation to the former, thankfully.

am more stressed pre-exams this year than last year - last year it was more of a question of how high among the ranks of other fellow natscis i could climb to; this year, i'm more than happy to get a first - whatever the rank.

good thing that the freaking out phenomenon is rather widespread amongst the 2nd year natsci community - i'd be really worried if i was the only one!

三字经

what does yeast biology and singapore have in common? their love for abbreviating long long words into three-lettered "catchphrases" is almost criminal.

excerpts from my notes:

"silencer contains ARS sequences, which binds ORC. the ORC then recruits the SIR and RAP proteins to the regions of silent cassettes..."

not forgetting the art of killing biology undergrads:

swamping them with protein names. essential for exams? i have NO idea.

bah.
